Novalux
Founded in 1948, Novalux is a company specializing in the design and manufacture of professional lighting systems. To support the expansion of its product catalog and improve the management of technical information, the company partnered with the software house Cosmobile to develop a digital transformation project based on the Categora PIM, with the goal of digitizing the product catalog, centralizing data, and automating the creation of technical data sheets.
Novalux’s Requirements
As its product range expanded and its presence grew in various international markets, Novalux needed a platform capable of efficiently managing a complex technical catalog.
The main objectives were:
- Digitize the product catalog into a single centralized system
- Integrate the PIM with the company’s design and production tools
- Manage a multilingual and multi-market catalog
- Create a web portal consistent with the brand identity and easy to navigate
- Automate the generation of product technical data sheets
Digital Catalog with Categora
With the Categora PIM, all processes related to product catalog management have been centralized. The platform allows for the organization and updating of complex technical information, such as photometric data, regulations, color codes, light temperature, materials, and LED specifications.
The system is integrated with the PDM software used for technical design, allowing data to be automatically imported directly from the product development phases.
Today, the Novalux catalog managed in the PIM includes over 6,000 product references, organized into more than 150 product families and available in 6 languages. The platform also facilitates collaboration between different company departments and external partners, such as the communication agency Iprov.

Automation of Product Data Sheets
Thanks to Categora, we have been able to automate the generation of product data sheets, which are created directly from the data in the digital catalog.
The sheets include all the information useful to designers and technicians—dimensional specifications, images, accessories, photometric curves, and standards—and can also be automatically generated in combined configurations of the base product and components.
